"Although only coming out in the Netherlands for now, the Phillips VP-5500 VoIP Videophone is a glimpse into the myriad of possibilities that VoIP has to offer (via The Red Ferret Journal). The WiFi enabled VP-5500 has a built-in VGA camera that can rotate 240 degrees, so you can watch yourself on the built-in LCD display as you chat with a friend. Don't want people to see your vicious case of morning hair? The phone easily turns off to give you plain ole' boring VoIP calls. But wait! There's so much more!
This particular VoIP phone also runs Linux and will be updateable over WiFi. It also has a built-in speakerphone and is compatible with hands-free headsets, allowing you to speak (and see) without having to do that uncomfortable neck-ear squeezy thing. The phone can also snap pictures and can hook up to a TV so that everyone can see what you see. You really have to envy the Dutch. First Heineken and now this phone. They really do have it made."
Au revoir...
