Sharing GPRS/UMTS connection from a SE k600i with PDA

  • Hi,

First I want to apologize for writing in english but my german is still too rusty.

I'm having a problem and maybe someone can help.
I have a Sony Ericsson k600i with a flat data plan from E-Plus. I can use the mobile to connect to the internet by itself and I can use it as bluetooth modem to connect with my laptop. From this I'm sure that the mobile is working correctly.

My problem comes when I try to connect the PDA. I have a HP iPAQ 5550 . The devices are paired.

    The settings I'm using are

    APN: internet.eplus.de
    number: *99***1#
    user: eplus
    password: gprs
    dial string: AT+CGDCONT=1, "IP","internet.eplus.de"
    IP: dynamic
    DNS: 212.23.97.2 / 212.23.97.3

When I try to connect I see the bluetooth in the mobile connecting but I always get a "Cannot connect for an unknown reason" error. It seems that the modem is not initializing.

I know that the PDA is able to communicate with the modem. If I use a terminal and input normal AT commands such as AT+CGDCONT=? I get the typical reply.
Using software such as Pocket PhoneTools 5 I can even detect the carrier from the modem, so the devices are definitely able to communicate.

Any ideas are very much appreciated.

    Best Regards.
