    Munich, Feb 13, 2006 | BenQ Mobile, the new business division of the BenQ Corporation, will present the ultra-slim S81 UMTS telephone today at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona , Spain . At only a slender 13 mm, the S81 is one of the slimmest UMTS-mobiles on the market to offer complete UMTS functionality without compromising one millimeter on design. The BenQ-Siemens S81 garnered the 2006 international iF Design Award for its exceedingly elegant and valuable appearance. It is the ideal mobile phone for discovering the diverse possibilities of mobile communication. Design reduced to the max combines with classic elegance to lend a high-quality appearance to this shimmering handset. Brushed metal elements on the back of the casing set further optical trends.
    Movies and video clips can be downloaded or watched on the move in real time via a fast UMTS connection (data rate of up to 384 Kbps) – and in superb quality thanks to video streaming and downloading in H264/AAC+ format. Additionally, music plays directly onto the mobile via UMTS-supported audio streaming or downloading in the formats MP3, AAC, AAC+, AMR and WMA and can be listened to anytime and anywhere via the stereo headset supplied. For excellent wireless sound experience, the Headset Bluetooth® Stereo (EU/UK) HHB-180/181 is also available as an accessory.


    The BenQ-Siemens S81 is also perfectly equipped for video calls with a second camera (VGA) above the large 2-inch TFT screen (262,144 colors, 176 x 220 pixels). Calls can then be made face to face in handsfree mode or with the Headset Bluetooth® Comfort (EU/UK) HHB-160/161 (available as an accessory) to friends and colleagues. The Headset connects wirelessly via the mobile’s Bluetooth® interface and permits a particularly high level of comfort, weighing in at only 19g.


    The S81 UMTS all-rounder provides a 1.3 megapixel camera with 10x digital zoom, LED photolight and separate camera key for spontaneous snapshots. A photo editor is also integrated for subsequently touching up the photos. Special moments can even be captured in moving pictures on the built-in camcorder.


    The elegant S81 does not only offer multimedia enjoyment, but is also a trusted companion in daily business life. Because of its built-in organizer function, all key data can be synchronized easily with an office PC. The S81 permits access to current appointments, address data, personal memos and e-mails in an instant. This enables waiting times to be spent meaningfully and allows the working day to be organized more efficiently. If the internal telephone memory (30 MB) is insufficient for all data, photos and movies, the mobile’s storage capacity can be extended to up to 1 GB using microSD™ cards.

    Munich, Feb 13, 2006 | BenQ Mobile, the new business division of the BenQ Corporation, introduces the BenQ-Siemens EF51, a music device with an integrated mobile phone. The EF51 is the ultimate listening experience that makes no compromises in design, feature configuration or user navigation. It is fully focused on the needs of heavy music users on the move and equipped with accessories standard to other music players on the market.
    The EF51 demonstrates its prowess as a high-performance music player with every refinement. Fully fitted with easy to use keys located on the shiny exterior, the EF51 serves every user’s music needs. Clearly arranged keys for play, pause as well as fast forward and backward functions are located below the 1.6-inch TFT color display (262,144 colors, 128 x 128 pixels) for quick and easy operation.


    Apart from an FM radio, the EF51 boasts a player for music files in MP3, WMA, AAC and AAC+ formats. A particularly convenient feature is the voice-operated music selection (Speech-to-Music™) function, which allows users to simply tell their mobile phone the name of the song and it starts playing, so a search function isn’t needed! The BenQ-Siemens EF51 also has integrated 3D surround sound, a 6-band equalizer for individual sound arrangement and a Display Lyrics feature which displays the text of the music being played on the screen. Additionally, the EF51 enables music to be recorded directly from the radio, a convenient feature when recording personal favorites.

    Munich, Feb 13, 2006 | BenQ Mobile, the business division of the BenQ Corporation, has just crossed a milestone in mobile devices with the launch of the EF91, the world’s first mobile to carry HSDPA technology. HSDPA stands for “High Speed Downlink Packet Access,” which describes a technology that enables a data transfer speed in the UMTS network that is several times faster than the conventional standard. Now live television, video downloads and mobile Internet surfing can become a high-speed experience on the mobile phone. Thanks to HSDPA, shaky pictures seen during video calls are also a thing of the past.
    Using modern multimedia technology, the BenQ-Siemens EF91 brings fun and entertainment to day-to-day communication with friends, family and colleagues. This clamshell mobile combines a high-resolution digital camera and modern mobile phone in one compact device. Precious moments can be captured spontaneously in pictures whilst on the move at any time with the aid of the integrated 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, digital zoom, photolight and camcorder function. Sharing pictures with friends is now easier via the mobile data transfer.


    Apart from viewing personal photo and video shots in brilliant quality on the large, 2-inch TFT mobile display (240 x 320 pixels, 262,000 colors), the latest news and stock market prices can also be read conveniently on the Internet whilst on the move.
