...ist eine industrievereinigung nahezu saemtlicher firmen, die im mobilfunk eine rolle spielen; ziel ist es, sich gemeinsam auf standards zu einigen (z.b. bei mms)

drm = digital rights management, d.h. eine art kopierschutz fuer diverse "medienarten" wie z.b. kligenltoene, filme, bilder. forward lock steht wohl dafuer, dass man sich selbige toene zwar herunterladen kann, aber nicht weiter (=forward) senden kann...

sync ml ist eine "sprache", die es dem handy erlaubt, mit einem geeigneten server seine daten abzugleichen - meistens wird sync ml benutzt, um kontakte oder termine abzugleichen.

es waere sehr nett - und einfach auch nur korrekt - wenn sich AM bzw. die betreiber dieser seite soweit an das "urheberrechtsgesetz" halten und quellen ihrer bilder kundtun - dieses thema hatten wir ja schonmals mit dem "6850" (jetzt wohl 6810 und 6820), welches dort angeblich schon verfuegbar war und sich dann als geklautes bild herausstellte.

Nokia 3660 and Nokia 3620 camera phones offer 65,500 color screen,
stylish keymat, Xpress-on(TM) covers

Building on the success of the Nokia 3650, the company's top-selling
imaging phone launched last year, Nokia is now introducing the Nokia
3660 and Nokia 3620 which further expand the company's imaging
portfolio and extends the imaging experience to a wider consumer
segment. In addition to an integrated high-resolution VGA camera for
still picture and video capture, a video player and multimedia
messaging (MMS) functionality, the Nokia 3660 and Nokia 3620 feature
a 65,500 color display, a stylish key mat design, and a new range of
Xpress-on(TM) covers. The tri-band Nokia 3660 (GSM/GPRS
900/1800/1900) is primarily for the European, Middle-East and Asia
Pacific markets while the Nokia 3620 (GSM/GPRS 850/1900) phone is
primarily for the Americas. Shipping is expected to begin during the
fourth quarter of 2003.

and sound to another compatible MMS-enabled phone or to an e-mail

e-mail support and an XHTML browser to make accessing mobile services
a richer experience.

Infineon übernimmt 145 Software-Ingenieure für Mobilfunk von Siemens - Ausbau des Lösungsgeschäftes wird vorangetrieben

Oktober 2003 – Die Infineon Technologies AG wird 145 Software-Entwickler vom Siemens-Bereich Information and Communication Mobile (Siemens mobile) übernehmen und damit seine Lösungskompetenz im Bereich Mobilfunk deutlich ausbauen. Darauf haben sich Infineon und Siemens mobile jetzt geeinigt. Die hochspezialisierten Ingenieure bringen vor allem Kompetenzen aus den Bereichen hardwarenaher Software für Handyplattformen sowie Betriebssysteme für Handys mit. Infineon wird die neuen Mitarbeiter in seine hundertprozentige Tochter Comneon GmbH & Co. OHG integrieren, die als unabhängiges Software-Entwicklungszentrum im Bereich Sichere Mobile Lösungen arbeitet. Damit verstärken sie das bereits vorhandene Entwicklungsteam, welches bereits heute für Siemens und andere Kunden arbeitet.

Vorbehaltlich der Genehmigung durch die deutschen Kartellbehörden baut Infineon, derzeit viertgrößter Anbieter von Halbleitern für Mobilfunkanwendungen, mit diesem Schritt seine Kompetenz im Bereich Mobilfunk deutlich aus. Derzeit beschäftigt das Unternehmen rund 200 Mitarbeiter in der Software-Entwicklung für Mobiltelefone der nächsten Generation sowie für die Integration von fortschrittlichen Betriebssystemen für den Mobilfunk. zufrieden trotz anfaenglicher (mechanischer) probleme

hallo Ayreon,

habe das hdw2 seit ein paar monaten und nutze es im wechsel mit dem 3650 und dem r520m. bei beiden keine besonderen ausfaelle (ausser dem voice-dial-bug meines 3650) und die sprachqualitaet ist soweit in ordnung.

beim s55 hatte ich es auch mal dran - kein problem. ich schaetze, dein hdw2 hat probleme....:(

bilder "wiederverwenden" kommt leider haeufiger vor als man glaubt...und das es sich um indirekte werbung handelt, ist auch offensichtlich: "schaut her, wir haben schon ein geraet rumliegen, welches nokia noch nicht mal offiziell vorgestellt hat".

gerade bei nokia und deren sehr rigiden informationspolitik wundert mich das doch ziemlich - vom rechtlichen aspekt mal ganz abgesehen. und es geht hier ja nicht um einen asienimport, sondern um ein voellig neues geraet.

ComputerWire: Smartphone A920 ist "gesperrt" für Anwendungen von SE P800

Hutchison 3G UK has locked down the new Motorola-built smart phone A920 for its "3" service

Europe via ComputerWire : Hutchison 3G UK Holdings Ltd has locked down the new Motorola-built smart phone for its "3" service, seemingly in an effort to stop the device being used for nefarious purposes. However, the plan denies users of the device access to applications written for the similar Symbian-based handset from Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB.

Symbian Ltd confirmed to last week that the A920 featured a "closed" version of its operating system, but 3 has only just confirmed what this means in practice. A spokesperson for the operator told ComputerWire that the device was being treated as a "walled garden" with users only able to install 3-approved applications on the device.

By doing so, Hutchison is preventing users and developers from taking advantage of the basic similarities between the A920 and Sony Ericsson's established P800. With both phones using the same fundamental systems software - Symbian OS v7.0 and the UIQ pen-based interface - the A920 could have come to market with a host of ready-made third-party applications. Symbian confirmed that P800 applications should, in theory, work with the A920.
Hutchison's stance, while potentially irritating to users and developers, has some basis in common sense. The A920 is one of the most sophisticated mobile devices yet brought to market, combining the Symbian OS, high-speed 3G access and assisted global positioning system in one package.
