Also mit QWERTZ hatte ich bis jetzt den Wizard(älteres Modell),TyTn(UMTS/HSDPA) und momentan den Herald/P4350...
Alles in allem muss ich sagen ist der Herald(KEIN UMTS) eins der besten PPC´s auf dem Markt!
Er kann Verarbeitungstechnisch sogar mit meinem "verstorbenen" ASUS P525 mithalten! 
Solltest aber auch einen PPC mit QWERTZ in Betracht ziehen!
Denn das S710 ist ja "nur" ein Smartphone...
..und daher vom Funktionsumfang(Touchscreen,Office usw.) eingeschränkter als ein PPC!
Nimm doch einfach ein BackUp-Programm
bsp.Spb Backup!
Wenn Du es nur einmal brauchst,reicht auch die Trail.
da kannst Alles sichern...Oder halt nur Kontakte,SMS/e-Mails,usw.
Der HTC Audio-Manager hat das iPod-Interface...
Der TyTn hat dem Trinity nur dioe Tastatur vorraus...
Und angeblich das abgeschaltet GPS-Modul was ja laut SW-Update zugeschalten werden kann(siehe VPA-Variante)
Das Software-Branding ist relativ einfach zuentfernen...
Dazu gibt es aber schon Millionen von Threads... 
Also als erstes...
Die Tastatur des TyTn/Trion/usw. kannst Du mal nicht mit dem Treo vergleichen!
Die des TyTn ist um längen besser...ausserdem verfügt der Treo nur über ein Quadratisches Display(240x240) wo der TyTn ein QVGA-Display(320x240) hat!
Der Treo hat keine Frontkamera...Somit keine Videotelefonie!
Diese bietet der TyTn!
Als Alternative:
Schau Dir mal das Eten M700(mit Tastatur) bzw. X500 an
Dann wären auch noch der ASUS P526 für Dich interessant...Dieser kommt aber erst auf den Markt!

Und eine sogenannte no_id vergeben...
