Forum back in town! (04.06.2002 22:53:35) from Simon Moon
So, this is not eassy for me. We converted from vBulletin to phpBB. Why? Well, we got a nice mail from Jelsoft, telling we dont have a valid license. Wich was bullshit, Gowenna had one, but i didnt have that data. So i sent them 160 USD and thought all is fine. In under one month, they called the license invalid, because i got told "you did break our license agreement". Specifically: "vBulletin may not be used for anything that would represent or is associated with an Intellectual Property Violation, including, but not limited to, engaging in any activity that infringes or misappropriates the intellectual property rights of others, including copyrights, trademarks, service marks, trade secrets, software piracy, and patents held by individuals, corporations, or other entities."
Ok, that would mean iSONEWS, NFOrce, pretty much any page that has to do with news (the world or whatever), pages where you can buy stuff, and everything else is against their license agreement. I paied 160 USD of your donations to let them blow it away? Generally, no. But they did it now.
The forum was down, because they came again, that we dont have a valid license. I told i will buy a new one, and now they say, i cant buy a new one. So what we do? FUCK Jelsoft!
phpBB is the solutions name. It got a convertor from vB to phpBB and so i tried it. It worked and now we are set. All users, all posts, all private messages, all forums, and so on are still there. You can access them as before. You might notice everything looks a bit different, but i hope you get used to it. If you run into any problems, send me a mail, or better, come to the chat. Please excuse the bad look, we wanted to bring you the content as fast as possible back. The design will be adjusted later.
