For you who doesn´t understand swedish I did a translation when I had my breakfast (it´s not perfect, but should give you some confirmation about one or two rumours on the forum) about 30 minutes after the article had been published. As a side notice, Mobil is a well known magazine who generally publish correct information...

Many people have been in contact with Mobil and asked about the Neonode N1, and now we can present mor iformation about the N, information from the company itself.

Neonode is a phone with dual-band (900/1800) which means it can be used on both the freqvencies that is been used in Sweden and in Europe, but not in the US. Neonode is going to equip the phone with hardware for the american market, but this is not something you can do after you bought the phone.

Because the N1 uses diffrent types of data transfers, it´s not very suprising that the phone is equiped with GPRS (4+1).

The OS is Windows CE with a shell that Neonode themself calls Neoshell. The shell is what makes the N1 diffrent from other devices with Windows CE. Note that Neonode doesn´t use Smartphone as Orange SPV or Pocket PC Phone Edition like Qtek (also called Joey).

The processor i the N1 is a 96 MHz ARM 7 and the screen is a 2,2" TFT . The screen can show 262140 colors and has a resolution on 220x170 pixels.

When you buy the phone is is equiped with 16 Mb RAM and a 64 Mb SD-memory card. The SD-card has the possibility to control much in the phone, and the operators will have the oppertunity to deliver the phone with a SD-card that controls everything in the phone and decides which software that shall be used.

Like many other new phoes today the N1 will have a built-in camera and this one can take 640x480 pixel photos with as much as 16.000.000 colors. N1 can also be used to record movies, with 15 frames per second and a resolution of 160x120 pixels. The images you record can be saved on the SD-card.

When it comes to sound the N1 has built-in speakers, but you can also plug it in a stereo and deliver the sound that way. This was something Neonode demonstrated on the press-release, and it was certinly [spl?] nothing wrong on the quality of the sound.

The phone has oth IR and USB, which, amongst ther things, can be used to synchronise the data from the N1 to your PCby Microsoft Active Sync.

The battery takes 2,5 hours to charge and should be sufficent for 10 hours use of games or mp3, four hours of talkig time or 250 hours stand-by.

N1 weights in at 93 grams and has the dimensions 88x52x21 mm. When you buy it it includes the following software: software for the camera, mediaplayer, filemanager, adressbook, notes, SMS, MMS, WAp-browser, e-mail and Internet Explorer. All the information comes from Neonodes recently opened web-site.

There you have it! Really nothing new, but I thought it could be of interest. Nice that the phone will includes IE... Should put an end to the question concerning if the N1 is able to wiev web-pages correctly (instead of just WAP).

It didn´t say anything about software for a calender, but I quess that the N1 is shipped with one? Does it say aything about this in the FAQ?

wird der krieg der zukunft von anhängern verschiedener handymarken geführt? wenn man einige hier liest, die andersdenkende mit begriffen wie aufgeilen bezeichnen, dann kann einiges hier nicht ganz richtig sein.

klopf, klopf, hallo? einer zu hause im hirn? das sind mobiltelefone, nicht mehr und nicht weniger... :confused: :confused: aber das sprachliche (nicht)ausdruckvermögen hält wohl schritt mit der vergötterung des nokia-schriftzuges .

daywalker: worauf beziehst du deine zahlen? garantiefälle? werden die nach soft-und hardware unterschieden? wäre schön, wenn du darauf genauer eingehen kannst, da man daran auch die "verspätung" der zeitungen ablesen könnte.

nach was für kriterien wurde denn getestet? vielleicht war ja auch qualität im spiel und da ist nokia ja z.zt. nicht gerade obenauf. weiterhin sind die software-macken, die im ausland ja schon zu aktuellen rückrufen von netzbetreibern geführt haben, ebenfalls u.u. mit in die wertung eingeflossen.

ich finde es äußerst bedenklich, dass so ein schritt überhaupt in erwägung gezogen wird. schließlich handelt es sich bei dem u.a. als ziel genannten staat deutschland um einen nato-partner, zu dem seit jahrzehnten ein recht enges verhältnis besteht (was allerdings der "elefant" schröder schön in scherben gelegt hat... ).

neben der wirtschaftsspionage, die mehr oder weniger offen durch abhören des funkverkehrs hier (echolon) betrieben wird, wäre das eine neue qualität, die den weit verbreiteten anti-amerikanismus weiter (und vielleicht aufgrund dieses einem dikatorischen lande würdigen vorgangs) steigern würde.

aber vielleicht antworten sie auf der forumsseite ja mal auf diese frage.

den erscheinungstermin sehe ich übrigens sehr kritisch, da auch noch keine vorseriengeräte an tester o.ä. personen ausgegeben worden sind. rein vom projektablauf kann ich mir einen solch schnellen release dann kaum vorstellen...

das mit dem lautsprecher ist klar und wird ja auch bei den features genannt. das hieße aber, dass man das tel zum telefonieren drehen müsste (eigentlich kein problem). doch sehe ich keine microöffnung.

dagegen ist unten neben dem usb anschnluß ein "löchlein", das sehr gut als headsetanschluß dienen könnte.

hat denn jetzt schon jemand an den hersteller mal geschrieben?
