Anyway, have you noticed that on nextlink.to, under Bluespoon - Support, the Bluespoon Bluetooth Approval certificate (temporary) is posted!
It says that 29'th of August, the Bluespoon has passed all requirements to be Bluetooth certified. Tested by SEMKO (the Swedish electrical certification institute). The final papers are expected 10'th of September.
This is 1 day prior to first shipments They didn't sleep after all.
So it had not received certification long ago, as was speculated earlier in this thread. However, that might also be hard, if the core chip is missing

In the same support page, instructions for use with Ericsson ("Use as directed in Users Guide") and Nokia Phones has appeared.

Answer a call waiting, and headset "voice dialing" is not supported by Nokia phones. And they have to re-restablish contact, if the BS is turned off. This sounds simple though (press either button)

Okay,..I just shot some pics at home,..just to give an idea of size and also show cradle, and so on.
    In the package is a full-color instruction-manual book,..and also a mini-cdrom with animated instruction-manual

    3 pics :

    1. Bluespoon, T68i and BS-cradle.

    2. iPaq and Bluespoon.

    3. Bluespoon and a ZIPPO-Lighter.

This should give a pretty good indication of size

The blue-part of BS is transparent/see-through.
Buttons are silk-matt black/grey,..the Bluespoon itself is silver-silk-metallic.

The first "Bluespoon-users" are in the UK,..if anybody should wonder.

And yes, they are being shipped,..and have been since the 30th :)

    Pilcon.dk is the danish distributor.

More distributors will come along shortly.

Our partners Mitsumi in Japan will run the production from November.
    They've got bigger capacity.

We are constantly working on this distributors/resellers list,..I dont think its "complete" yet,..but I'll try to ask for a copy of it

Expansys.com,..is the only place right now, where You can preorder it, at least according to my knowledge

    oneeyejack > hehe,..yeah, they'll fit any ear-size.
The "ear-lock" can "bend and shape" to fit anything
Okay maybe not an elephant, hehe.

Another thing is, I'm not at Nextlink every day, so I dont have all information on prices, distributors, shipping and so on. My basic concern are the design-part, and right now the show in Japan.

I'm usually "updated" on different stuff, whenever I go to Nexlink.
But with everyone right now being VERY busy/not in the house, there arent always time/possibilities, for a complete "update".

Just came home from bluetooth congress/show in Amsterdam.

The Bluespoon was very popular down there.

Sound-quality is really good,..we tried it out in big crowds,..and with a lot of other bluetooth devices surrounding it,...some people couldnt even hear that it was a headset,..actually thought it was a phone, hehe.

A Danish mobile-magazine have now tried the Bluespoon. The standbytime is 400 !!! hours, and the talktime is 6 hours. The sound is very good, and it fits perfect.

...I know that I could avoid all these comments, questions and so on from all you people,..but I (and nextlink) didnt want to.
I want people to know what "goes on", and I want to give info.
I think a lot of other companies should do the same,..I'm not gonna mention any names....

The productionmodel coming out soon,..will not have exchangeable covers,..I also wrote this a long time ago...

    ebenfalls am 18.07.02 zum trage-komfort;)

...Its got a small exchangeable bendable spring/coil,..actually comes with different springs in the package, soft and hard
Besides the spring theres a moulded-piece with the speaker, sitting in the opening of the ear,...its plastic of course,..and you will also get those soft pads that comes with ordinary headset,...some feel comfortable with the plastic piece,..others would like the soft pads,..sooo we do both, hehe
Small soft pads will be in the package too.

It sits very good,...doesnt hurt the ear in any way,..and You almost dont feel it at all. ..

und weils so spannend und intressant ist bin grade dabei die mehr als 20 seiten dieses topics zu lesen, kopier ich grad mal die wichtigsten infos hier rein...

...We (Nextlink) do not want to keep everything a secret,..thats why I'm giving information.
A lot of people are very interested in this....

    [b/]am 14.03.02:[/b]
Meeting on monday at 10 am.

I just spoke to my CEO about Bluespoon. He will be going to a bluetooth- show in Japan on the 14.4.2002.

We (Nextlink) have all materials at home now, the covers are being produced right now.
Production is up and running smoothly.

The only thing we need now, is the bluetooth-module !!!!
They simply cannot deliever the new module.
Other companies are experiencing similar delays,..e.g. Nokia and Compaq.

We are all awaiting the bluetooth-module.
Some countries get these before others, I know that Compaq can only deliever few 3870 models,..the next shipment is in May

Nokia's headset wont be out untill May either, and we will be out with Bluespoon at approx. the same time. Hopefully before !

We were promised the modules in December 2001,..soooo we are a "bit upset" by now !!!!

We do have the "old module", but the standard on this simply isnt good enough.
An example is the Talk-time on this old one, Its is only 1HOUR !!
We would be "pissing" on people, if we gave them this one.
We want people to be able to speak up till 8 hours,..and that requires the new module.
The new module have some other advantages as well.

I believe that the delay on these bluetooth-modules, are caused by a lot of companies, that "suddenly" needs them.

It's really annoying,..we have all the other components, e.g. batteries, microphones, speakers,..and casings are being produced.
We are "on schedule", testing went great, production is up and running,...nothing has gone wrong,...untill now,..GGGRRRRR.
Of course it has to be the most important part in the construction that cant be delievered,..hehe,..arent we just lucky, NOT

As someone said earlier,..think it was DECOY, he said "you will always be delayed"
Yeahh Mate "unfortunately" You were right.

Well, I'm going to the meeting on monday. Hope I'll have some "positive" information to tell you guys and girls, when I get back.

MCastro > Hmm,..yeah, well the silver production-model is so small anyway.
Its not even the size of your ear

But when the jawbone-model goes into production, it will probably have a slightly different design, and will not have the microphone-part,..it will look like a spoon, without the handle
So it will be slightly shorter in lenght.
But we still dont know when this model will come.

The version with double-microphone (for noisy enviroments) will probably be out before the jawbone model.

Right now our focus is on the silver production-model.

UPDATE : Someone asked about voice-dialling.
You will be able to use this feature on Bluespoon

bezieht sich auf die ericsson sprchbefehle bei T39/R520/T68i

    am 52.03.02
We believe it should sell on unique design, small size, innovative fitting, and very good sound-quality.
Its hard to say, how a brand-new product will sell. But we do believe that it will sell good,..or else there wouldnt be any point in making it

    am 27.03.02
There'll be different resellers,..and the software can be upgraded, or the headset can be sent to e.g. service center (or Nextlink).

We are working on this at the moment Trying to find out the best way to do this.
    und ausserdem:
Its very hard to say just how good it is, because there arent that many bluetooth headsets, to compare it with.
Of course we have done some comparing/testing, but I wont/cant go into that now. All I can say is, ...the Bluespoon microphone is good
E.g. when a person wearing the Bluespoon talks, its very easy to hear that person. The speaker is also very good.

Of course the jaw-bone microphone (which will come later on) is even more impressive,..no noises at all !

Because Bluespoon is much smaller, then the materials are also special in some way, and also very good. This of course "helps" on the sound- quality. Another thing is, that the people at Nextlink are very good at what they are doing,..they have a lot of experience in doing high-quality headsets for e.g. security-services, special forces, firefighters, police and so on.

    am 29.08.02
The double-microphone Bluespoon, that comes later, will be very good with noisy enviroments. It basically cancel all noises from the outside.
